Promotion of qualified education in Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Culture (RP&NSC) in the Republic of Belarus to ensure a safe use of nuclear power in Europe.

INNOVATIVE CHARACTER

The Master in Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Culture is a priority forthe nuclear industry and its teaching methodology combines theory and practice through digital learning. RADIUM project fosters the knowledge transfer from the “centers of excellence” in Minsk to distant regions by involving six Belarusian Universities located throughout the country.

CONSORTIUM

Six universities of the Republic of Belarus and four European Union universities (Italy, Spain, Belgium and Germany) participate in RADIUM project. Five of them are members of CHERNE, the open European academic network for cooperation in Higher Education on Radiological and Nuclear Engineering.

RATIONALE

Belarus's national energy policy aims to secure sustainable energy and reduce energy import dependence by investing in nuclear energy. RADIUM project is in fact in liine with the key priorities of the State Program “Education and Youth Policy” for 2016-2020 (sub-program “Specialists Training for nuclear energy” and sub-program “Development of the system of higher education”.
